 Hi Everyone!

I'm ticking off stuff on my 'to-do-list' and this is my first deed today :)

I know I've been quiet and not posting much around here or in general. Real life is busy (not in a bad way atm, thank god, just busy) and happy fandom life these day means to hole up with my laptop and write without being distracted by weird fans posting weird stuff on twitter or fans bullying each other or fans whining about this and that on twitter also :p

Here are a couple of things I want to write about today:Read more... )
- For those of you who have been reading stories or watching vids on my website at Anne's Happy Place and were wondering why it's been down for a whle now:
I really had no idea it was down until a friend e-mailed me to let me know it was down and to ask when will it be up again. Shame on me for not checking on my own website in such a long time that I did not even realize it was down. After talking to my hubby I found out that our net provider has been sold to another net provider and apparently they have purged all free websites running under the old provider. I don't know if we even got notice - I can't remember getting anything from them. But it's gone and won't be back :(

I do have the offline version of the site and all my stuff backed up of course, but I need time to figure out where and how to built me a new 'home' for my stuff. All my stories are up at AO3 and will remain there of course so reading is not a problem. But videos and the whole Little Danny Headquarter section of my website including parties and all the little gems the LD group has created through the years will need a new home. Since I had no traffic counter on my website I have no idea if ppl even still went there to read/watch etc so I am not sure if there are peeps out there who simply thought I left or stopped participating in fandom because it's been a while since I last posted a story too... but I'm still around, I'm still here. I still love my Jack and Daniel and my LD. And I will try to get a new website up sooner or later and will let you know when it's up - but it may take a long while until it's finished.

Which brings me to the next subject - writing.

I had a long long dry spell writing wise. I did not write a single word in 2016 until December came around and the muse woke up from its beauty sleep. So I am still writing and working on two stories, both set in the SJD verse. One is finished, the other one will hopefully be finished in a couple of weeks/months (one never knows how much the muse loves to play and how rl will behave). Since the second story is set before the first one I won't start -posting until they are both finished and dusted over, but this is just to let you know I'm still working on fiction and having a ball with it. It jut takes longer than it used to these days.

To that end - thank you to my readers for your patience and for sticking with me.

- I created a new community over here which is called [community profile] rdadaily and was supposed to be crossposting with the LJ community rda_daily. I did that mostly because of LJ's connection to Russia and wanted to move the community over here and keep crossposting to LJ so that LJ users can still see the pics. Now it seems that LJ has disabled DW from crossposting and I either have to post to both communities separately or just stay at LJ since most ppl who still watch that community seem to be LJ user. Am still trying to decide what to do. I don't think Russia has any interest in RDA pictures and won't start tracking what's going on there :p But it still feels a bit unsettling, all of it.
EDIT::: And then again, crossposting actually still seems to work or is working again! Okay, so now I'm confused! But this means I can start posting pics and cross post... 'throws up hands' Oh well, lol

Okay, that's it. I hope you all have a nice spring and a lovely week.
Big Hugs,
Anne

I'm going to London Film and Comic Con to see RDA and Michael J Fox. This is the year of Back to the Future and the whole cast (or most of it) will be there and omg, I was such a fan of those movies and I admire MJF and love most of his other movies, too. And RDA... 'nuff said!

I am going to meet up with a friend from Canada and we'll share rooms which will be interesting since we never met before "g" This came very unexpected - I had not planned to go but things just fell together and now I'M GOING!

I'm still trying to recover from sorting out flight prices vs train prices and how long it takes with one or the other. I went from: I can only go for one day to going all three days because flights are actually cheaper and better time wise when you don't go from Fr to Sat but from Fr to Sun and train prices... sigh... it's cheaper but omg the time it takes to travel is so long ... while you could spend that time at the con... so I caved and decided to fly and stay two nights instead of just one.

Oy. I have not been to London since I was fifteen and it's a bit sad I won't get to see much else of the city than the convention, but there's not much time to do much else.

I'm excited!

I HAVE to make a manip/wall whatever of RDA and MS both wearing those BEARDS!

Seriously, I'm not a beard gal... with few exceptions... but it's kinda cute they are both wearing the same kind of facial hair atm. And I want them on a picture together.

So... looking out for piccies of da man to match him with da other man...

I'm thinking cabin fun.

Okay, I will have to type the first five or so minutes of this panel (and some stuff in between) from my memory and since it's been over a week now... bear with me, please. Again, if anyone wants to fill in blanks, correct me, add something etc, feel free to point stuff out, I'll be grateful!

The Sunday panel was RDA, MS, AT, Jay Acovone and Suanne Brown (Jay is the actor who played Kawalsky and Suanne was Hathor). Jay kept pointing out that he died in the very first episode and that he still wasn't over that, lol.

They came on stage and there was a row of chairs right underneath the big screen and MS went to the far right (left from where I was sitting), AT sat down next to him, then Jay. Suanne and RDA were kind of indecisive on who was going to sit where and finally Suanne sat next to Jay and RDA next to her, so he was on the far left (right from where I was sitting).

The fun continues... )

I took some screencaps this morning and found it really hilarious how some of the pics turn out when you just look at them without knowing what's going on. So, my new icon isn't manipped or photoshopped. It just happened to be that way... here is the full cap of it...

I'm almost done with cleaning up the Sunday panel transcript, I have to figure out a couple of places where it's difficult to get the words... but it will be here soon. Here are a couple of pictures first.

Sunday Morning Autographs... He was very nice and it was very easy to actually talk to him. He told me he'd just gotten the script for the new SH episode the night before and I asked him if it was good and he grinned and said, "I'm nooot telling!' :)

And here are panel pics... I had to play with the colors and lightning a lot because they all had yellow or red faces so now it's more blueish and I'm not sure this looks better, but I think it's better than the yellow "g"

Again, if you want any of the pictures without signature, please e-mail or PM me, just don't share them anywhere on the net. You are welcome to share the ones with text anywhere you like :) click to embiggen...

The transcript is still in the works. It's much harder to do this with all three of them. I have a couple of more things to go to, but I hope to have it up this afternoon.

Enjoy!

I have more - want more? Will post more later...

The opening ceremony was already a lot of fun. I won't get into anyone else, but it seemed all the stars were in a good mood and looking forward to the convention. MS was first of the SG-1 guys and he was in his typical show-on-hiatus look. Scruffy and long hair. He was also wearing that really nice leather jacket... and that awful hat he already wore in Calgary "g"

He came on stage and his first words were: “I brought Richard Dean Anderson's hair with me.”

Amanda was next and they hugged and kissed and giggled and then RDA came on stage and – I don't know what's that about, but MS has the tendency to crack up from just looking at him, which is hilarious. So RDA came on stage, goofing around, and MS started laughing and AT started laughing and well, there were hugs and stuff and somehow RDA and MS got into some animated conversation about something (maybe the hockey game, but I have no clue) and then there was a lot of partying and the opening ceremony went on and MS and AT danced, which was cute.

Nichelle Nicholes, who was the oldest star of the con sang and everyone gave her a standing ovation. She's 82 and such a darling and while she had to take many breaks during her autograph hours I think she gave everything she could. I am pulling my hat for her traveling this far at her age to see the fans and have panels. I know that Bill Shatner is her age as well and that Walter Koenig is not healthy and that both of them have been over here, too, two years ago. So I'm saluting to my beloved ST-there-can-be-only-one-original-crew actors for still coming over here and entertaining the fans.

Right after the opening ceremony RDA's first (and only) alone panel started and I have some excerpts for you. But please bear with me because some of it I just didn't get and some of it was hard to understand and some of the questions were even harder to understand... :)

RDA wore a red shirt and dark pants and I thought he looked great. I think he lost some weight and he cut his hair - I have a thing for his hair and it was just ohhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyyy gooooooood, being able to see him (with his hair) up and close. 'ehm'

Anyway... he kept up with most of the questions and if he couldn't he just entertained us with his charming, goofy self. He fiddled a lot with his hair and pulled at his shirt and, well, we all know he can't stand still for five minute, so he was all over the stage and hard to pin down for pictures. I loved every minute of the panel even though the trio panels were my favorites.
